BUMDes or Village-Owned Enterprises is one type of government-owned business entity other than BUMN and BUMD. As we know, the central or regional governments have several business entities whose function is to provide Regional Original Income or PAD to the state by managing the available potential.

According to his understanding, BUMDes is a village business managed by the local government and has a legal entity. It can be said that BUMDes is a business entity whose capital is wholly or most of the capital owned by the village through direct participation originating from the wealth of the village itself. The wealth is then deliberately separated to manage a number of assets, services, and other types of business for the sake of the village community.

Meanwhile, the capital or source of funds for this Village-Owned Enterprise comes from the village government, community savings, assistance from the central, provincial, and district/city governments, as well as loans or capital participation from other parties. It could also come from profit-sharing cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit. Basically, this Village-Owned Enterprise can also borrow funds.

BUMDes also plays a close role in empowering the people's economy in Subang Regency in general and in particular in Cupunagara Village, Cisalak District. BUMDes Mukti Raharja has developed various sub-sectors, one of which is the development of food crops and secondary crops as an alternative to solving community economic problems to improve the welfare of farming communities. The development of the agricultural sub-sector needs to be pursued as a component of agricultural business which is an integral part of national development which is continuously improved through agricultural intensification.
